DESCRIPTION:Sonja Glassmeyer\, Ed.D. is Professor Emerita at Cal Poly. She taught Kinesiology and Public Health at Bailey College of Science and Math. Dr. Glassmeyer (Sonja) is a recognized group facilitator in the areas of Brain Fitness and Adult Wellness. \nBrain Fitness\, the topic of our July Luncheon presentation\, is defined as “the ability of the brain to learn what the organism needs to know in order to survive in a changing environment”. \nDr. Glassmeyer will present recent findings which outline categories that can affect parts of the brain that are especially vulnerable to accelerated aging and dementia. Fun and memory building activities will also be presented.
